Experiencing a setback can feel frustrating and defeating. Setbacks have the potential to discourage us and cause us to give up. Every time we experience a setback, we decide how we are going to view it. God cares about how we view our setbacks. The way we see our setbacks influences how we move forward from them.
John 9 describes a time when Jesus and His disciples were walking by a man who was born blind. His disciples asked Jesus if the sins of the man or his parents caused him to be blind. Jesus responded in John 9:3 (NIV) “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” Jesus helped His disciples understand that the man’s setback was really an opportunity for God to display His power and goodness.
In the midst of the setback you may be experiencing today, look for Jesus. When your eyes are fixed on Jesus, He helps you to see your setbacks as setups for the miraculous to happen in your life. When you have the right perspective and your trust is on God, you will see Him transforming your challenges into opportunities for His power to be displayed.
Invite God to shape your perspective during this time of delays and uncertainty; you will see Him do amazing things in your life.
